It had to happen - I finally bought a Mac!
I bit the bullet and upgraded my 2 year old, yet very fastly-aging Dell Precision M60 portable workstation - to an Apple MacBook Pro 15" 2.16ghz... I love this new notebook - it is VERY slick, and as far as I can tell so far - very fast in general!! The little things make it faster- from startup time measured in seconds, to wake from sleep in like 2 seconds, this thing flies on most everything.

I'm hanging out for the latest Universal version of Adobe CS to take advantage of the Intel Core Duo processor - and then it should fly on Adobe Bridge, CR and PS too. I also need to upgrade the RAM to the full 2gb ASAP - as it can be a little laggy in Aperture and Lightroom with some of the bigger pics.... I'm still "training" the battery - but that should be sorted soon enough. In contrast the battery life seems shorter than my M60's - which is a little dissapointing.

Anyway so picture editing and album creation should be a cinch with this new portable. Showing off portrait sessions and weddings on this is going to be great with the remote.... I bought the TV output cable with it at the same time so it should have no hassles connecting this to pretty much anything from TV's to HD projectors.

All in all - the things that could be improved upon from my early impression is battery life, the speakers, and heat... I could cook eggs on this thing!!

Welcome to My Blog!!
Well, my "new" blog anyway. I have had a couple of blogs. They kind of started out great. Both were surrounding specific trips, which were great! However as either internet connections got few and far between along the way (or too darned expensive) or we came home from the trip and "real-life" set back in - it was hard to justify continuing a blog about "Around the World in 28 Days" when it's two years down the track!

So here is my new - and going to be main, blog. I'll be talking about photography, new shoots coming up, my firends, inspiration and life.

About me : I'm a photographer, I've been "taking photos" for years - but only within the last four years or so have I started to get into the actual "art" of it all. A little pretentious, but I'm originally a designer - so I love stylish and fashionable photography. I love capturing "the moment", and whether it be a snapshot - or a breathtaking slice time.

More later - appreciate you joining me!
